She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur Benton and Ocie Benton; her husband Larry; and her son Rod. She is survived by: her children, Kayla Banister (Brent) of Papillion and Jeff Becker (Brenda) of Spring, TX.; her daughter-in-law Fabiola; her grandchildren, Fabiola (Jose), Fernanda, Sophie, Logan (Megan), Spencer (Aimee), Molly (Zach), Mason (Kelli), Aaron and Levy; her great grandchildren, Diego, Anthony, Elena and Milo; her daughter Beverly Nobrega (Paul); and her grandchildren, Madison, Bailey and Kendal. She is also survived by nephews and a niece.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 31st 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Southwest Church of Christ (2600 S 124th St, Omaha, NE 68144).
Even as she struggled with Alzheimer's in recent years, Joy would make every attempt to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere in her home – and continued to welcome visitors as much as she was able.
