Lee Thi (Moi) Russell Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mrs. Lee Thi (Moi) Russell. Mrs. Russell, 83, of Bellevue, Nebraska (NE), passed away February 4, 2023. The daughter of South Vietnamese farmers, she was born January, 1940, in Danang, South Vietnam. She escaped the Vietnam War arriving in Bellevue, NE in 1970. During the 1980's, she worked as a supervisor at the Strategic Air Command Dining Hall, Offutt Air Force Base, Omaha, NE. All of the Generals on General's Row requested her to cater Vietnamese food for their events. From 1990 to 2008, she worked in the hospitality and food industries to include Ramada Inn, Hy-Vee and ConAgra. In retirement, she was an active member and volunteer for churches in Panama City and Titusville, Florida (FL).
Mrs. Lee Thi Russell was a generous and loving woman. She loved her sons, daughter-in-laws, grandchildren, and great grandson. She helped others as a mother figure sharing stories of South Vietnam, its people, its customs, its culture, its history, and its food.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband: John William Russell.
Lee leaves behind many loved ones including sons: Paul Allen Russell (Dianne) of Jacksonville, FL, Che Van Russell (Atsuko) of Alexandria, Virginia (VA), and Ralph William Russell (Tracy) of Papillion, NE. Grandchildren Jonathan, Justin, Sasha, Chrystal, Kenley, and Caleigh. Great Grandson Ocean.
