It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Marie Rutar of Pender, Nebraska, who passed away on September 13, 2025, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Louis Zavorka and Antonie Pavlica; her grandson Jared; her husband Johnny Rutar of Thurston, NE; her siblings, Wencil, Louis, Frank (Ruth), Joe Zavorka Sr., Joe Zavorka Jr., Louise Urbanek (George), Antonie Donbraska (Johnny) and Ann Votava (Jim); her grandsons, Louis and Kevin Rutar; her siblings-in-law, Jerry Rutar (Rose), Mary Malasek (Jerry), Agnes Pallas (Henry) and Dororthy Zavorka; her grandson Marvin Jared Rutar; and her grandson-in-law Ryan Touney.
She is survived by: her children, Louis Rutar (Merry Lou) of Thurston, NE, Richard Rutar (Teresa) of Pender, NE, Frances Rutar-Moore (Jim) of Colorado Springs, CO, Daniel Rutar (Ann) of Plattsmouth, NE, James Rutar (Tami) of Pender, NE and Tina Rutar-Sudbeck (Gregg) of Hampden, ME; her siblings, Kris, Chad (Jen), Gina (late Ryan) and Nick (Colleen); her grandchildren, Nathan (Kaly), Heather (Chris), Adam (Brandy), Danielle (Nevin), Chris (Mikki), Derek (Molly), Trevor (Whitney), Frances and Rochelle (Bryan); her foster child Maranda; her children, Courtney (Kiah), Austin and Spencer (Paige); her foster child Sulmy; her grandchildren, Dakota (Randa), Casey and Chance; her sister-in-law Marjorie Zavorka; her brother Charlie Zavorka; Jason (Beth), Stacey (Mark), Shawna, Ryan (Devlin) and James "Jim". She is also survived by Her children's unions resulted in 25 grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 18th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and at 7:00 PM at the Cornerstone Assembly of God Church (805 Thurston Ave, Pender, NE 68047). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, September 19th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation.
