It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Michael Eugene Gruener of Phillips, Nebraska, who passed away on November 13, 2025, at the age of 59, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father-in-law Richard Whitaker; and his grandparents, Henry, Carol Gruener, Karl and Elenora Ackerman.
He is survived by: his parents, Duane Gruener and Karen Gruener (Ackerman); his wife Karen Whitaker; his daughters, Kayla (Bob Kill) and Molly (Blake Preston); his grandchildren, Eleanor and Kallie Preston; his sisters, Michelle Koch (Bill) and Marcie Ross (Aaron); his mother-in-law Susan Whitaker; and his brothers-in-law, Gary Whitaker (Carla), Dan Whitaker (Jeanne) and Roger Whitaker (Renee). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated at a later date.
