With sadness, we share the passing of Melvin Winkle of Pickrell, Nebraska. Melvin, born on July 5, 1929, passed away on October 22, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford C. Winkle and Ethleen Winkle (Yarnell); his wife Faye Ledbetter; and his siblings, Rolland, Lyle, Elden, Harvey, Jerome, Keith, Lois Dragoo, Genevieve Long and Carol Hester.
He is survived by: his sons, Neil Winkle (Ginnie) of Beatrice, Russell Winkle (Barb) of Snow Hill, NC and Jeff Winkle (Deb) of Filley; his grandchildren, Bree (Kevin), Jalisa, Tara, Wyatt, Peyton (Jack) and Lexi (Dalton); his great grandchildren, Eden, Eleigha and Grayson Brimmer; and his brother Dennis Winkle of Pickrell. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 26th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Harman - Wright Mortuary (623 Elk St, Beatrice, NE 68310). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 27th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Pickrell United Methodist Church (404 W Pickrell Rd, Pickrell, NE 68422). The inurnment will be held on Wednesday, October 28th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Pleasantview Cemetery W Elm.
Memorials are suggested to the family's choice in care of the mortuary.
