He is survived by: his father Larry Eugene Thompson; his wife Melanie Rae Vorderstrasse of Pilger; his children, Dana Moeller (Jeff) of Wisner, Megan Eckerman (Chris) of Menasha, WI, Rebecca Thompson (Josiah Hein) of Lincoln, NE and Samuel Thompson of Vermillion, SD; his mother Barbara Thompson (Janssen) of Wisner; and his siblings, Maureen Thompson of Pierce, NE, Bryce Thompson (Amy) of Creston, NE, Larell Meier (Jay) of Pierce, NE, Vanesa Du (Jeff) of San Jose, CA, Joel Thompson (Noel) of Kansas City, MO and Amanda Thompson of San Jose, CA. He is also survived by brothers- and sisters-in laws, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and cherished friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, November 20th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Wisner Auditorium (1001 Ave D, Wisner, NE 68791).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family for future designation.
