He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Knaak and Frances Knaak (Henery); his parents-in-law, Emil and Tillie Molacek; his siblings, Chera Lee Avery (Bill), Karen McDonald (Roger) and Roger; and his nieces, Julie Avery and Kelly McDonald.

He is survived by: his sons, Larry Jay of Plainview, Timothy Joel and Bruce Alan (Diana) of Lyons; his wife Janice Knaak of Plainview; his grandsons, Cooper (Liz) of Sunnyvale, CA and Spencer of Omaha; his sister Jacque Lattimer (Tim) of Buckeye, AZ; and his sister-in-law Jane Knaak of Omaha. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews, neighbors, friends.
