As we bid John farewell, let us not mourn the absence of his physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of his spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For John is not truly gone, but merely transformed, his energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Glenn William Wetenkamp and Agnes Edna Wetenkamp (Frady); and his siblings, Edna Jean Schnieder, Edith McCaw and G. Albert Wetenkamp.
He is survived by: his sister-in-law Becky Wetenkamp of Plattsmouth. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grand- nieces and nephews, cousins, and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 16th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Brian P. Harvey Funeral Home (1408 8th Ave, Plattsmouth, NE 68048). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 16th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, December 20th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Oak Hill Cemetery (149 Oak Hill Rd, Plattsmouth, NE 68048).
Memorials may be directed to the Mynard Liberty United Methodist Church.
