He was predeceased by : his parents, Vincent Henry Zimmer and Anita Faye Zimmer (Arens); and his sister Sharon Frohne. He is survived by : his wife Jackie Zimmer of Plattsmouth, NE; his sons, Bryan Zimmer (Janelle) of Plattsmouth, NE and Kevin Zimmer of Bellevue, NE; his grandchild Ciara Chaney (Clark) of Overland Park, KS; his son Tyler Zimmer (Katie) of St. Louis, MO; his great grandchildren, Cora and Vincent Chaney; his sister Debbie Tomczyk (David) of Murrells Inlet, SC; and his brother-in-law James Frohne of Littleton, CO. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The family suggests Memorials to the Dementia Society of America.

“Jackie, Kevin, Bryan, Jan and family: It is with great sadness that I learned of the death of your husband and father Richard. I remember him as always having a witty sense of humor and a kind heart. I got to know him best during the construction of Bryan and Jan‘s home. There were times Bryan assigned us the same task and he was always ready with interesting and funny comments. I always looked forward to seeing him. God bless you in this difficult time. Mary & Randy”
