He was predeceased by: his wife Verna Joy Schweers; his parents, George Schweers and Mathilde Schweers; his siblings, Hermann Schweers and Liz Cwach; and his grandson Dylan Fischer.
He is survived by: his children, Lisa Mollenhauer (Steve) of Pueblo West, Colorado, Derrick Schweers (Marcella) of Ponca, Nebraska, Lora Truesdell (Jerry) of Osgood, Indiana, Theresa Navrkal (David) of Elk Point and Kathryn Fischer (Doyle) of Tea; his grandchildren, Amanda Dodson, Kimberly Mollenhauer (Steven Coauette), Sarah Erickson (Kory), Tyler Schweers (Amanda), Mattie Schweers, Abby Reid (Jyde), Grace Truesdell, Dakota Navrkal (Colee) and Devin Fischer; his great grandchildren, Ethan, Matthew, Anna Schweers and Delilah Fischer; and his siblings, John Schweers (Helen) and Margrete Armstrong.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Salem Lutheran Church (421 W 2nd St, Ponca, NE 68770). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
