She was predeceased by: her father Frank Parkos; her husband Rex Canfield; her parent Steffie Parkos Sr. (Hasek); her parents-in-law, Palmer and Mable Canfield; her siblings-in-law, Maynard Stelk, John Francis Canfield, Palmer Canfield, Arthur Canfield, George Canfield, Eldon Canfield, Lillie Halliburton, Pearl Paxton, Bessie Pierce, Mary Carstens and Bonnie Scott; her son-in-law Bill Michels; and her granddaughter Kathleen Werner (Canfield).
She is survived by: her siblings, Frank Parkos (Dorothy) of Wylie, TX and Marcella Stelk of Grand Island, NE; her children, Charlene Ackerman of St. Paul, NE, Debra Southard Michels of St. Paul, NE, Duane Canfield (Valerie) of Santa Rosa, CA and Terri Lawver (Rick) of St. Paul, NE; and her grandchildren, Kaylene Coughennower (Chad) of Altoona, IA, D. J. Canfield (Jen) of North Platte, NE, Kenny Southard (Betty) of Kodak, TN, Cheryl Stepp (Thomas) of Kodak, TN, Brandy Southard of Knoxville, TN, Paige Brumbaugh (Dustin) of St. Paul, NE and Taylor Lawver (Taylor Umstead) of Shelby, NE. She is also survived by seven step-grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren, 20 step-great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; and two step great great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 25th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Apfel Funeral Home (1123 W 2nd St, Grand Island, NE 68801). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 26th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, September 26th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Ord Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated at a later date.
