He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Kukas and Anna Kukas (Kuhn); his wife Irene Heilbrun; his daughter-in-law Sherry Kukas; and his siblings, Jacob, Phillip, Herman, Henry, Jr., Mollie, Amelia "Millie" and Margaret.

He is survived by: his son Ervin Kukas of Issaquah, WA; and his close friend Lila Ellard of Scottsbluff. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family for a later designation.
