Fred Hara Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Fred Hara of Scottsbluff, Nebraska, born in La Junta, Colorado, who passed away on October 8, 2020, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Itsuno Arakawa and Soshichi Hara; his wife June Kishimoto Hara; and his siblings, George, Dan, Frank, Ted, Ayako Kishiyama and Kazue Nagasawa.

He is survived by: his children, Diane Donnelly (Bill Montague), Janet Hara (Al Verhey), Kim Flesher (Doug) and Roger Hara (Diana); his grandchildren, John Donnelly III (Allison), Katherine Dodd (Bobby), Matthew Donnelly, Jessica Flesher and Danielle Flesher; his great grandchild Harvey Hara Dodd; and his sisters, Anna Tomoi (Sam) and Betty Hayano (Lee). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Fred's name may be made to the Legacy of the Plains – WNYMA Japanese Hall Fund or the First United Methodist Church of Scottsbluff.

“We just came across the article of uncle Nob and was very saddened by his passing. We visited him a few years back and he showed us his wonderful organized and neatly labeled garden. He also was such an artistic craftsman and gave us a Christmas tree bent out of wire which I wear every year. We all , gwen, richard and me (Margie Richards wife) had a wonderful time and he was the most gracious host. We will miss him very much.”
