He was predeceased by: his parents, Victor Johnson and Mildred Johnson (Anderson) of Banner County, Nebraska.; his wives, Mary Harbinson Johnson and Bobbie Deines Johnson; his brothers, Klayton'Kay" Johnson and Milton "Pete" Johnson; his siblings-in-law, Richard "Dick" Kuxhausen, Delores "Dee" Johnson, Nancy Harbinson, Jack Duke, Bev, Jack Fox, Nelda, Bill Bottom, Charlotte and Chuck Theiman; and his nephew Chris Duke.
He is survived by: his stepchildren, Tammy Harms of Sidney, Nebraska and Bill Deines (Karen) of Parker, Colorado.; his sons, David (Brad Schroeder) of Omaha, Nebraska, Paul (Anne) of Fort Collins, Colorado and Steven (Danielle) of Fort Collins, Colorado.; his grandchildren, Paul (Courtney) of Littleton, Colorado, Katharine of Culver City, California and Anna of Fort Collins, Colorado.; his stepgrandchildren, Lindsay Rochlitz (Richard) of Julesburg, Colorado, Trevor Harms of Kimball, Nebraska and Will Deines of Highlands Ranch, Colorado.; his great grandchildren, Ryland and Lennon Rochlitz of Julesburg, Colorado.; his siblings, Rodney "Bud" Johnson (Linda) of Scottsbluff, Nebraska and Marlene Kuxhausen of Minneapolis, Minnesota; and his sisters-in-law, Jann Johnson of Scottsbluff and Fran Johnson of Scottsbluff.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Vine Church (2002 4th Ave, Scottsbluff, NE 69361). The military honors will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at 2:30 PM at the Fairview Cemetery (4109 5th Ave, Scottsbluff, NE 69361).
The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials in Ken's honor be made to either Vine United Methodist Church or Northfield Retirement Communities.
