He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Fenton and Christine Katherine West (Herdt); his brother Bill West (Ruth); and his brother-in-law Don Andrews (Billie). He is survived by: his children, Gregory Lee, Victoria Lynne, Jeffrey Don and Steven William; his wife Doris Elizabeth Andrews; his children, Greg West (Tiara) of Gering, NE, Vicki Brunner (Tim) of Scottsbluff, NE, Jeff West (Laura) of San Antonio, FL and Steve West (Katie) of Holly Springs, NC; his grandchild Kaiya West; his children, Marissa Fix (Travis), Scott Brunner, Courtney, Brooke West, Elizabeth and Paul West (Marybeth); his great grandchild Quinten West; his grandchildren, Sawyer, Sutton Fix, Gianna West and Theo West; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Payt'n and Reed Fix; and his nieces and nephews, Jeni Stansbury (Kevin), Doug West (Teri), Terry West (Kris), Beth Sayler (Mike) and Scott Andrews. He is also survived by numerous great nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 3rd 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. John's Lutheran Church (2220 Broadway, Scottsbluff, NE 69361).
It is respectfully requested that in lieu of any flowers, memorials in Melvin's honor may be made to the Lutheran World Relief, or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
