He was predeceased by: his parents, Victor Asmus and Esther Asmus (Wendy Asmus) of Scottsbluff; his brother Marvin; his nephews, Kelly, Jeff Asmus and Aaron Lybarger of Colorado; and his wife Wendy Farrar.
He is survived by: his children, James Asmus of Mesa, Carrie Birt of Phoenix and Jennifer Castro (Richard); his siblings, Paul Asmus (Patty) of Golden, CO. and Vicki Ullstrom (Don) of Fort Collins, CO.; and his grandchildren, Bailey Birt of Omaha, NE, Andrew and Ben Castro of Gering, NE.. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grand nephews, and cousins.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 19th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Salem Congregational Church (2001 7th Ave, Scottsbluff, NE 69361).
It is respectfully requested that in lieu of any flowers, memorials in Ron's honor be made in care of the Farm and Ranch Museum.
