He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob Yakel and Anna Mary Yakel (Kaiser); and his wife Gladys Hessler. He is survived by: his daughter Terri Baily (Tim); his grandchildren, Daniel Baily (Julianne) and Michelle Ransom (Wesley); and his great grandchildren, Judah of Georgia, Luke Baily of Georgia, Harper of Georgia, Evelyn of Georgia and Audrey Ransom of Georgia.

Memorials may be made to the Zion Evangelical Church.
