He is survived by: his mother Norma Martens (Schwarz) of Spirit Lake, Iowa; his daughter Amy Elizabeth (Kyle) of Seward, Nebraska; his wife Karen Martens of Seward, Nebraska; his sister Annie Ver Heul (Greg) of Viborg; his son Michael Martens of Downers Grove; and his grandchildren, Alex Martens, Lauren Martens, Micah Royuk, Aaron Royuk and Nathan Royuk.
