He is survived by: his wife Janis Mahalek of Seward, Nebraska; his children, Russ Mahalek (Rhonda) of Omaha, Todd Mahalek (Marty) of Garland and Cindy Pieper (Jay) of Lincoln, Nebraska; his grandchildren, Wesley Wills, Chelsi Ridge (Matt), Logan Mahalek (Michaela), Mason Mahalek (Megan Garbe), Thomas Pieper, Mollie Pieper (Ethan Jasinski) and Jackson Pieper; and his great grandchildren, Teigan, Eli, Theron Ridge and Amelia Mahalek.
