He was predeceased by: his father Gilbert; his sisters, Doris and Kathy; his brother-in-law Elvin Vachal; and his nephews, Douglas Stubbs and Garret Vachal.
He is survived by: his wife Ann; his children, Barb Kaufman (Lance), Mia Newell (Ken), Chris Stivers (Darouny Phanthavong) and Josh Stivers (Heather Henck); his grandchildren, Connor, Delaney, Brenna, Carlie and Colin; his stepgrandchildren, Brittany and Kourtney; and his great grandchildren, Aaiden, Phoenix, Tinsley and Dove.
