He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Carlson and Edla Carlson (Anderson); his wife Joanne Carlson (Wilson); his daughter Melanie; his daughter-in-law LaNelle; and his sisters, Arlene Chaplin and Lois Lefler.

He is survived by: his sons, Craig (Vicki Carlson), Dr. Mark (Linda Carlson) and Nicholas (Debbie Carlson); and his grandchildren, Brad (Megan Carlson), Daniel (Jenna Carlson), Laura (Ethan Larsen), Taylor Carlson, Noel (Dixon Kinney), Alia (Matt Pomey), Cole Carlson, Lauren Carlson, Lyndsi (Karl Chapin), Faith Carlson and Grace Carlson.

Memorials contributions may be made to the Carlson family for future designations.
