With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Marcella Kubicek of Shelby, Nebraska, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 27, 2026 at the age of 85. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ignac'Nick'Patocka Jr. Patocka and Wilma Patocka (Fiedler); her husband Ken; her son Steven; and her parents-in-law, John and Helen Kubicek.
She is survived by: her children, Richard Kubicek (Mary) and Cindy Davis (Pat) of Shelby; her grandchildren, Courtney Wichman (Brant), Chelsea Joekel (Ben), Claire Pfieffer (Logan), Miles Davis (Abigail), Makanna Schmitt (Clayton) and Mason Davis (Mia); her great grandchildren, Grace, Jackson, Owen, Oliver Wichman, Henry, Halle Joekel, Quinn, Nash Davis, Heston and Lux Schmitt; her siblings, Eugene Patocka of David City and Bernice Stava (Gary) of Seward; and her close friend Kenneth Ladwig of David City. She is also survived by other relatives and friends.
