Marvin touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by : his parents, Hubert Bernt and Paulina Bernt (Weiser); his siblings, Marcella Zelasney, Dolores Korger, Irene Kubas, Huberta Schaf and Willie Bernt; and his siblings-in-law, Betty Bernt, Allen Zelasney, Bernard Korger, Marion Kubas, Bernard Schaf, Ralph Burritt and Virgil Hastings.

He is survived by : his wife Doris Louise Oehme of Shelby; his children, Mark Bernt (Kim) of Kimball, Lisa Spitz (Rob) of Columbus and Amy Hartsock (John) of Lincoln; and his siblings, Albin Bernt of Norfolk, Elaine Burritt of Lincoln and Iona Hastings of Lincoln. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 14th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the St. Vincent's Catholic Church (751 S Nance St, Osceola, NE 68651). A rosary was held on Tuesday, May 14th 2024 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, May 15th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, May 15th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the St. Andrews Cemetery (Co Rd 138, North Osceola, NE).

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family to be designated later.
