He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis C. and Agnes A. Hurt; his son Andrew; his brothers, Louis and Dennis; and his brother-in-law Fred Hromas.
He is survived by: his wife Ann Drawbaugh; his son Aaron (Maggie); his daughter-in-law Whitney; his grandsons, Conner, Austin, Jonathan and Alexander; his sister Georgia Hromas; and his sisters-in-law, JoAnn Hurt, Dorothy (Tony Hill), Jean Martin (Warren Yankton) and Marie Fleenor. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions will be made to Sidney Public Schools Education Foundation.
