He was predeceased by: his parents, Chris Maas and Martha Lena Maas (Brogren); his wife Lois Maas; his brothers, Ronald Maas and Delmar Maas; his grandson Christopher Maas; and his siblings-in-law, Delores Maas, Marvin Boehmer, Lila Boehmer, Don Tincher, Janet Meyer and Barbara Meyer.

He is survived by: his sons, Craig (Lori Maas) of Potter, NE and Dallan (Jody Maas) of Austin, TX; his grandchildren, Amanda Maas of New Orleans, LA, Ryan (Lisa Maas) of Austin, TX and Brandon (Victoria Maas) of Lothian, MD; his great grandchildren, Cora Maas of Austin, TX, Haystyn Coe of New Orleans, LA and Harrison Maas of Lothian, MD; and his siblings-in-law, Johanna Maas of Santa Fe, NM, Carolyn (Charles Carlson) of Kimball, NE, Marjorie Meyer of Sidney, Marian Tincher of Sidney, NE, Daryl Meyer of North Platte, NE and Marvin Meyer of Sidney, NE. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Evangelical Free Church of Sidney or the Potter Volunteer Fire and Rescue.
