It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dick J. Stromp of Spalding, Nebraska, who passed away on July 9, 2025, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, George Stromp and Agnes Stromp (Ballweg); his wife Mary Stromp; his siblings, Jerry Stromp, Jim Stromp (Dorothy), Rosemary Shirley (Glen) and Paul Stromp; and his siblings-in-law, Glenn Stueben, Joe Mostek, Ed Long (Linda) and Virginia Patzel (Bud).
He is survived by: his pet Windsor; his children, Ricky Stromp of Spalding, NE, Connie Bennett of Chatsworth, CA, Deb Abramson (Bob) of Central City, NE, Angie Langer (Tom) of Spalding, NE, Jeff Criss (Carey) of Spalding, NE and Mellissa Bloom (Pat) of Spalding, NE; his grandchildren, Jessica Clason (Tyler), Brianna Kruper (Jeremy), Justin Criss (Karlie), Paige Schilousky, Cortney Criss (Josh Vanleer), Branden Bennett, Miranda, Marissa Langer, Aven and Addyson Bloom; and his sisters-in-law, Heidi Stromp of Omaha, NE, Delores "Toots" Stueben of Grand Island, NE and Veronica Mostek of Columbus, NE. He is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, July 15th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the St. Michael's Catholic Church - Spalding (150 E Marguerite St, Spalding, NE 68665). A wake was held on Tuesday, July 15th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Wednesday, July 16th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
