He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Johnson and Elsie Johnson (Lauts); his brother-in-law Richard Scott; his niece-in-law Brenda Hammon; and his great-nephew Franklin Love.
He is survived by: his sisters, Esther Nielsen (Charles) of Niobrara, Kay Hammon (Paul) of Grand Island and Kathy Love (Tom) of Camino, California; his siblings' children, LeAnn Konken (John), Julie Wiebelhaus (Mike), Jon Scott (Nicole), Becky Bruggeman (Jeff), Ladina Morris (Lanny), Anna Sorensen (Mike), Douglas Hammon, Trevor Love, Kristen Carl (Scott), Karyss Bollen (Josh) and Theo Love; and his close friend Pat James of Lynch. He is also survived by 24 great nieces and nephews; and four great great nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be directed to his family for future designation.
