He was predeceased by: his former wife Donna McElwain (Jolly); his parents, James McElwain and Mildred McElwain; and his brother Bob. He is survived by: his wife Monzella "Kitty" McElwain; his brother John; his son Jim (Ginny); his grandsons, Jimmy (Brooke) and Josh; his great grandchild Kaiden; his grandchildren, Joshua, Gavin, Angelica, Michael, Allen, Christopher, Cody, Ivee, Bree, Lance and Amanda; Nancy Metzger (Dan), Judy Mintzmyer (John), Harald Nielsen (Karee) and Amy Schmohr (John).
To honor Jim's memory, in lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that you consider organ donation or make a memorial contribution to the Alzheimer's Association or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
