He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Arthur and Loretta May Smith (Hubbard); his former wife Mary Ann Boardman; and his siblings, Walt, Bob, Donnie and Bev.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Santee; his children, Richard (Esther) of Holdrege, Michael (Lori) of Springfield, James (Gayle) of Gretna and Julie Stagemeyer (Mark) of Arapahoe; his siblings, Emmett Smith (Phyllis), Dee Barber (Dave) and Carol Hobbs; his grandchildren, Hannah Osowski (Ryne), Nicholas Smith, Benjamin Smith, Jared Smith, Nathan Smith, Jessica Stagemeyer, Chelsea Hageman (Matthew) and Justin Stagemeyer (Aubriel); and his great grandchildren, Harper Smith, Meyer Hageman, Blakely, Hayden, Greyson and Easton Stagemeyer.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made in honor of Paul to Springfield First United Methodist Church Memorial Fund or Sarpy County Ag Society.
