He was predeceased by: his parents, Stanley Preitauer and Ilah Preitauer (Coster); and his siblings, Bill Preitauer, Adelin Hess (Clifford), Merna Sawle, Joyce Preitauer and JoAnn Matthews.
He is survived by: his former wife Freda Allen; his stepgrandchildren, Dustin and Devin; his family, Stamford and John; his children, Dustin Preitauer (Tresadi), Devin Preitauer, Deb Wilson (Troy), Dean Preitauer (Ra), Dawna Bryant (JJ), Mishelle Wallander (Brad) and Nicole Robinson (Bill); his grandchildren, Chas, Alecia, Nick, Brennan, Brecken, Cauy, Shady of Sonny, CJ and Shayla; and his brothers-in-law, Dwight Sawle and Jim Matthews. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A celebration of life was held on Friday, August 1st 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Stamford Community Building.
A memorial has been established in John's honor, and kindly suggested to the family for later designation.
