He was predeceased by: his son Larry Vogel; his parents, Louie Vogel and Freida Vogel; his sisters, Dorothy Vogel and Irene Johnson; and his brother-in-law Derold Johnson.

He is survived by: his wife Lois Vogel; his children, Terry Vogel of Stanton, Rick Vogel (Carla) of Stanton and LaLene Bates of Stanton; and his grandchildren, Jeff Bates, Kathy Bates (Casey), Jason Vogel (Stephanie), Traci Jensen (Shawn), Anthony Vogel (Erin), Angie Ripley (Jeremy), Jesse Vogel (Melissa), Shaun Vogel (Aubrey) and Kylene Knettel (Trever). He is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
