With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Veda Charlene Walz of Stapleton, Nebraska, who passed away on February 22, 2023 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her mother Vera Deterding (Wilmoth); her husband Leo Walz; her father Felix Deterding; her stepmother Marie Deterding; her parents-in-law, Carl and Regina Walz; and her siblings-in-law, Vincent, Virgil and Susie.

She is survived by : her children, Jeana Hanna (Rex) of Stapleton, Denise Smith (Tony) of North Platte and Rex Walz (Kristie) of Stapleton; her grandchildren, Tenille Boyd (Jeff), Derek Hanna (Todd Lewandowski Jr.), Sawyer Hanna (Alecia), Trevor Hanna, Toby Smith (Dani), Tasha Smith, Jon Walz (Molly), Todd Walz (Lyndi) and Luke Walz (Molly); and her brothers, Duane Deterding of North Platte, Myron Deterding (Sherry) of Omaha and Darrell Deterding (Becky) of Springview. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, family members and friends.

Memorials are suggested to St. John's Catholic Church or Stapleton Vet's Club.
