He was predeceased by : his parents, Harry Pierson and Elizabeth Pierson; his siblings, Gordon Pierson and Sharon Koenig; his niece Kathy Koenig; and his nephew Shane Stubbendeck.

He is survived by : his sister Gail Spatz (Jim); and his nieces and nephews, Danny Stubbendeck (Rachael), Kevin Spatz (Trish), Elizabeth Soll (Chuck), Cindy Walsh (Kenny), Joe Koenig, Robert Koenig, Richard Koenig (Claudia) and Ruth Utterback.
