With sadness, we share the passing of Lon Wisdom of Sutherland, Nebraska. Lon, born on October 7, 1940, passed away on September 14, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Family, friends, and acquaintances remember Lon for his warmth, thoughtfulness, and the moments shared together. While he will be deeply missed, the influence he had on the lives around him remains. He was loved and cherished by many people including: parents: Hurshel Harry Wisdom and Vera Lee Hughes Wisdom; parents-in-law: Dave and Rosie Kennedy; wife: Virginia Ann Kennedy; brother: Michael (Dena) Wisdom; daughters: Dawn Wisdom and Heather (Jason) Marquardt; granddaughters: Daisha Marquardt, Jaimee Salgado, and Bethany Salgado; sisters-in-law: Gerry Kennedy and Jeanie Kennedy (Ross Dinwiddie); and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM at the Odean Colonial Chapel (302 S Sycamore St, North Platte, NE 69101). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Sutherland Presbyterian Church (910 3rd St, Sutherland, NE 69165). The inurnment will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at the Sutherland Riverview Cemetery (31350 W Sutherland Cemetery Rd, Sutherland, NE 69165).
Memorials may be made to the Sutherland Volunteer Fire Department.
