He was predeceased by : his parents, Verl McElfresh and Irene McElfresh (Chase); his wife Joann; his sister Shirley Beardslee; his brother-in-law Carroll Beardlee; and his nephew Scott.

He is survived by : his children, Scott, Ron McElfresh (Kim) and Mary Geiser (Allen); his grandchildren, Megan Ahrens (Douglas), Jeremy Hultman (Nancy Berg), Matthew McElfresh (Paige) and Justin Hultman (Elizabeth); and his great grandchildren, Jameson Hultman, Hudson Ahrens and Ruby Hultman.
