He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl "William" Kuhlenengelken and Rosa "Rosie" Kuhlenengelken (Behrens); his parents-in-law, Vera and Walter Henry Oehlerking, Sr.; and his brother Melvin Kuhlenengel.
He is survived by: his wife Lila Kuhlenengel (Oehlerking); his children, Dale Kuhlenengel (Shellee), Donna Jameson (Dan), Karen Hunt (Alan) and Kathy Bauer (Joe); his grandchildren, Kurt Kuhlenengel, Kim Kuhlenengel (Tyler Hansen), Kevin Kuhlenengel (Amanda), Christopher Jameson (Stacia), Michaela Larson (Ryan), Evan Jameson, Andrea LaVene (Ryley), Thomas Jameson, Alicia Hunt, Nathan Hunt (Grace), Holly Morgan (Bryce) and Sydney Bauer; and his siblings-in-law, Marita Kuhlenengel and Walter Henry Oehlerking, Jr. (Carolyn). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. John's United Church of Christ or to Syracuse Fire & Rescue.
