He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy F. Dowding and Wilma P. Dowding (LaFollette); his son-in-law Jeff Daharsh; his brother-in-law Virgil Halvorsen; and his parents-in-law, Dale and Bonnie Mayhew.

He is survived by: his wife Sheri Dowding; his children, Terry Dowding (Debbie), Kevin Dowding, Matthew Macrow (Tami), Mitchell Dowding (Angie) and Debra Daharsh; and his sister Wilma Halvorsen. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren.
