He was predeceased by: his brother Mark Lee Rathe; his sister-in-law Donna Rathe; his grandson Mark Wenzl; and his sons-in-law, Steve Scamehorn and Jim Wenzl.

He is survived by: his wife Joyce Rademacher of Tecumseh; his children, Michelle Wenzl (David Armstrong) of Sterling, Janelle Moran (Eric) of Tecumseh, Carolyn Beethe (Justin) of Tecumseh and Andrew Rathe (Katie) of Grand Island; his grandchildren, Sarah Hart (Erik Hart), Zachary Scamehorn, Madison "Maddie" Moran, Austin Kennedy, Morgan Moran, Katelyn, Isaac, Leighton Beethe, Lincoln and Maverick Rathe; his great grandchildren, Ezekiel, Oliver and Johanna Hart; and his brothers, Larry Rathe (Donna) of Sterling, Darrel Rathe (Connie) of Basehor, KS and Daniel Rathe (Pat) of Sperry, OK. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.
