He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Newell and Geil Newell (Van Cleve); and his sister Marilee Herries. He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Newell of Tekamah; his daughters, Vanessa Nelson (Steve) of Oakland, NE, Lou Eriksen (John) of Tekamah, NE, Jeanne Lydick of Tekamah, NE and Kelly Eggers (Chris) of Tekamah, NE; his nephew Joe Herries (Jennifer Threlfall); his niece Annette Batchelder (Craig); and his great-nephew Matthew. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; and 28 great grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday, October 19th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the United Methodist Church (1408 L St, Tekamah, NE 68061).
