He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Judy (Larsen); his father Seed; his children, Kim Epke (Dan) of Valentine, Kelli Springer (Dan) of Riverside, IA and Michael Reagle (Jill) of Garden City, KS; his grandchildren, Danielle Wackler (Eric), Melinda Schlueter (Kirk), Kendra Gretten (Bryce), Katie Springer (Lexi), Grace Reagle and Kaleb Reagle; his great grandchildren, Rylee, Parker, Cameron Wackler, Svea, Kaislee Schlueter, Alarik and Aphaea Gretten; and his siblings, Arlene Murphy (Tim) of Arizona and Eldon Reagle (Deb) of Valentine. He was also cherished by nieces and one nephew.
After retirement, he drove the school bus in Rapid City, South Dakota, until he was unable to due to Alzheimer's. Vernie then moved back to Valentine and lived with his daughter Kim until he moved to Parkside Manor.
