He was also cherished by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

“I moved away from Lincoln about five years ago. But my wife and I knew him for at least 25 years while we lived at the Centerstone, where Ed took care of everything and everyone. I truly thought of Ed as the expert on all things electrical, mechanical, and anything else that came up. He was a shining presence in our lives and it was a great joy to run into him in the downtown neighborhood. He was known and loved by everyone. Anyone who knew him will miss him profoundly.
