We are sad to announce that on August 6, 2025, at the age of 95, Mae P. Schwarten of Wakefield, Nebraska passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred Dietrich and Helena Katherine Salmon (Mecke); her spouse Merle Schwarten; her brothers-in-law, John Virgil Pearson (Avis), Bill Garvin and Salmon; her siblings, Frederick, Allen, Ilene (Andersen), Irene (Manto), Helen (Hattig), Leo, Harold, Elmer, Lucille (Taylor), Caroline (Gordon), Leonard, Kenneth and Dean; her granddaughter Jayme Fischer; her stepsons, Doug Schwarten and Brad Schwarten; her stepson-in-law Randy Still; and her stepgranddaughter Megan Schwarten.

She is survived by: her children, Leila Fischer (Richard) of Wakefield, Duane Pearson (Jean) of Lincoln, June Burns of Colorado Springs, CO and Paul Pearson (Heather) of Omaha; her grandchildren, Valerie Hangman (Jason) of Laurel, Jason Fischer (Amanda) of Wakefield, Erik Pearson (Kelli) of Eagle, Kara Parga (Jason), Mark Pearson, Laura Tvrdy (Ben) of Lincoln, Camelia, Tavia and Christina Burns of Colorado Springs; her great grandchildren, Mitchell (Keiziah), Kolton, Lane Fischer, Kyler, Rilyn Hangman, Riley, Tyler, Madilyn, Myles Parga, Sage, Nora, Reid Pearson, Lena, Julius, Viktor Tvrdy, Shannon Spence (Zac), Dalen, Damarious, Xavier, Jadyn, Deja and Desmond Burns; her great great grandchildren, Cameron and Riley Spence; her sister Mary Ann Garvin of Dixon; her stepdaughters, Christine Still of Colorado and Kathy Bird (Randy) of Wakefield; and her stepdaughter-in-law Vicki Loofe (Mike) of Wakefield. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
