He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Young and Corinne Young (Perry); and his siblings, James L. Young (Elna) and Helen Pethoud (Hubert). He is survived by: his wife JoAnn Emal; his children, Michael Young (Nancy), Peggy Clement (Daniel) and Martha Young; and his grandchildren, Stephanie Wildeboer (Johnathan), John Young (Claire), Andrew Young (Lara), Elizabeth Wulf (Jon), David Young, Emalie Clement, Paul Clement, Amanda Bostelman (Lucas) and Nikki Moeder. He is also survived by 12 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 31st 2026 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Harman - Wright Mortuary (623 Elk St, Beatrice, NE 68310). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 1st 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Church of Christ (924 Grant St, Beatrice, NE 68310). A graveside service will be held on Sunday, November 1st 2026 at 4:00 PM at the Pleasantview Cemetery W Elm.
