He was predeceased by: his parents, Maximo Alaniz and Maria Alaniz (Garza); his son Max Alaniz; and his siblings, Servando Alaniz, Socorro Lopez and Chelo.
He is survived by: his children, Danee Alaniz (Kim), Ira Alaniz (Susan), Anna Adams (Jack), Kecia Mapp (Laurence) and VelRey Lozano (John); and his caregiver Jay. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and numerous relatives.
