He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred M. Poss and Grace F. Poss (Gydesen); his son Randy Poss; his brothers, Darwin, Jean Poss, Melvin Poss and Richard Poss; and his brother-in-law Bill Neel.

He is survived by: his children, Sharon (Russell Timmons), Keith Poss (Leah Cabrera) of North Loup and Kevin (Jodi Poss); his siblings, Erma Neel of North Loup and Kenneth Poss (Linda Morrow); and his sister-in-law Elizabeth Poss of Scotia. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of plants and flowers, memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
