He was predeceased by: his parents, John McAhren and Wilma McAhren. He is survived by: his wife Darlene Kuszak; his daughters, Sherry Goldfish (Mike), Shelly Lilly (John) and Jodi Maruska (John); his grandchildren, Jared Manhold (Amy), Jordan Manhold, Sadie Goldfish, Kaitlyn Lilly, Emily Maruska and Erin Maruska; his great grandchildren, Desmond Manhold and Lucas Manhold; his siblings, Larry McAhren (Vicki) and Jolene Nelson (Dick); and his sisters-in-law, Betty Rhoads (Ron), Bernadine Niemann (Denny) and Marge Creason.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Thursday, October 8th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Apfel Funeral Home (411 W 11th St, Wood River, NE 68883). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 10:30 AM at 510 W Old Military Rd, Wood River, NE 68883.
Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated at a later date.
