Virginia Marie McCurdy Obituary

She was predeceased by: her parents, Lloyd Potter and Laura Potter (Summers); her former husband Willard Potter of Sumner; her husband Marvin McCurdy of Fullerton; her siblings, Peg Parks, Wilbert (Snooks) and LeRoy (Butch); and her sisters-in-law, Marie Potter and Mary Jane Potter.
She is survived by: her children, Theresa Childers of Sumner, Dale of Wood River, NE, Mike Potter (Deb) of Holdrege, NE and Brad Potter (Jessica) of Sidney, NE; her sister Dorothy Krance of Bolus, NE; her aunt Georgia Goodrich of Rockford, IL; her grandchildren, Sherry Deher of Stratton, CO, Sandy Boon of Eddyville, NE, Justin Potter of Merna, NE, Bobbie Potter of Paxton, NE and Jed Potter of Sumner, NE.; and her friends, Rosemary Brannagan and Rita Ernest. She is also survived by numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, several stepchildren, step grandchildren, and step great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 7th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Wednesday, October 8th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Apfel Funeral Home (411 W 11th St, Wood River, NE 68883). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
Memorials are suggested to the Wood River Fire Dept., Wood River Rescue Unit, or the Sumner Rescue unit.
