He was predeceased by : his parents, Milton Scherer and Doris Scherer (Hilleary); and his brother Paul. He is survived by : his former life partner Carol Scherer (Gerlach); his wife Cheryl Scherer (Dickes); his sons, Matt Scherer (Tammi) and Randy Scherer; his stepchildren, Kyle Hager (Tondi), Brent Hager (Jeni) and Mindy Hager; and his siblings, Shirley (Moander), Richard, William and Carol Scherer (Gerlach). He is also survived by nine grandchildren.
