It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Rita Friesen of York, Nebraska, who passed away on October 25, 2025, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Wilson and Dorothy Wilson (Renquist); her former husband LeRoy Friesen (Pete); her brother Gary Wilson; and her niece Sharlene Lawerence.
She is survived by: her husband Ernie of York; her stepdaughters, Sherri Bilslend (Will) of Cozad, NE, Linda Paugels of Lincoln, NE and Lori Shelton of Lincoln; her sibling's children, Rhonda Walford Braddock (Mark) of Bellevue, NE, Angela Herman of Williamston, Michigan, Deanna Broeder (Roland) of Great Bend, KS and Leland Classen (Dasha) of San Francisco, CA; her stepsister Lois Pesek (Gerald) of Valley, NE; and her sister-in-law Susanna Classen of Great Bend, KS.. She is also survived by 7 step-grandchildren; 12 step-great grandchildren; 2 step-great great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 8th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Arbor Drive Community Church (1527 N Blackburn Ave, York, NE 68467). The inurnment will be held on Saturday, November 8th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
