Harry Demaree Obituary
Harry B. "Benny" Demaree, 72, of Bedford, Indiana passed away on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at his residence. Born October 2, 1943, in Bedford, he was the son of Eli and Anna (Kern) Demaree. He married Janet Dalton on November 22, 1967; and she survives. He was a graduate of Bedford High School with the Class of 1961. He was a member of Pinhook Christian Church.
Harry worked as a tool and die maker at GM Powertrain, where he retired in 1979. He was a member of SCAVI, South Central Association of Visually Impaired and UAW Local #440. Harry was a Veteran of the United States Navy, where he was stationed in Rota, Spain; serving on the USS Forrestal and USS Enterprise; he was also a member of the Blind Veterans Association.
He was a Promise Keeper. Surviving are his wife, Janet; one son, Jonathan (Jennifer) Demaree, of Bedford; two grandchildren, Chris J. Demaree and Hailey Nichole Demaree; two step-grandchidlren, Jamie (John) Sharp and Janelle Benham; one step-great grandchild, Kayson Benham; and one brother, Alan Demaree, of Bedford. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons Jeffrey and Brent Demaree; and one brother, Dennis McCann.
Funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M. at the Pinhook Christian Church on Thursday, April 20, 2017 with Ted Stucker officiating. Burial will be in Pinhook Cemetery.
